Lexington, OH – WISKO Race Engineering has announced a unique F2000 Championship Series sponsorship package. WISKO will become the presenting sponsor of the F2000 live audio webcast for qualifying and races in 2012 and 2013, and in addition will brand the “WISKO Best Start” award.

The WISKO Best Start award will recognize the driver, for the balance of 2012, that improves the most positions on the opening lap of each F2000 race. The award will single out who brings the most aggressive first-lap driving tactics and cold tire skills to the deep F2000 field.

For 2013 the driver that advances the most positions on the opening lap of each race during the entire season will receive a $1,000 check and separate trophy at the awards banquet.

WISKO has been a newcomer on the F2000 scene in 2012, running rookie Kevin Kopp, who currently sits fifth in points, coming off a career-best podium finish in New Jersey, where the team expanded from one to three cars for the weekend.

“We are delighted to announce our partnership with the F2000 Championship Series. Even as newcomers to professional open-wheel racing, we've quickly realized that the program is the utmost showcasing of driving talent as well as engineering talent in a junior race series in North America. We recognize our addition to the F2000 Series as a race team has been well received. Furthermore, as a series partner, we can begin to further help secure a future for this race series, ensuring a ladder for drivers to advance up the ranks of formula car racing in the United States remains a possibility,” said Danyel Torres, manager at WISKO.

Added Michael Rand, managing director, Formula Race Promotions:  “The addition of WISKO as an associate sponsor of the F2000 Championship Series will underline who is the best on the opening lap of each race. This will undoubtedly provide some added excitement over the 2013 season, especially with $1,000 on the line.”

The F2000 Series introduced live audio for 2012, and has featured live streaming of all qualifying sessions and races thus far. Starting this weekend at Mid-Ohio, WISKO will take over presenting sponsorship rights to the audio cast, with their logo featured on Live Stream, in addition to mentions throughout the broadcast by announcer Greg Rickes.
