Lexington, OH – Heavy rain at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course produced a challenging early-morning qualifying session for the F2000 Championship Series field. With all said and done, Tim Minor scored his sixth WISKO Pole of the season in the No. 88 Citation for Ski Motorsports. Three bonus points make Minor’s already-huge Championship lead extend to 105 points going into the final six races of the 2013 season.

Minor’s weekend hasn’t gone to plan – as electrical problems plagued the No. 88 on Thursday and Friday. Main Championship rival and two-time 2013 race winner Kyle Connery in the No. 91 Van Diemen will line up second.

Steve Bamford, running a unique wet line, was third quick, with Roberto Lorena and Kevin Kopp completing the top five. Lorena’s HP-Tech team will have their work cut out for them as Lorena went off late in the session and the car will require repairs before the 1:45pm race start.

Kopp, meanwhile, was penalized and will start seventh, losing two grid positions for stopping a practice session on Friday, which promotes Robert Wright to the sixth place starting position in the No. 90 Radon.

The session ended early with a session stoppage for a number of cars off the track. Not getting a single lap was Fabio Orsolon in the No. 77 Radon. Orsolon had a similar Watkins Glen event, starting last and then finishing third on a drying track in June.

The Saturday Mid-Ohio schedule continues with a race at 1:45pm. Sunday features a similar schedule with 8:00am qualifying and a 1:45pm race start.
