The 2022 Formula Race Promotions Season Goes Green This Weekend

March 28, 2022

“Carolina Motorsports Park to host opening event”

It’s the week we have all been waiting for since the final checkered flag last year. With the calendar turned and the first quarter of the year under our belts, the Formula Race Promotions program will take their first green flag of 2022 this weekend at Carolina Motorsports Park. Located in Kershaw, South Carolina, CMP will be the host for drivers in F1600, F2000, F1000 and Formula Vee looking to start their season off with a win as they build points towards the end of the year championship.

“We have waited for this week for a long time,” explained Bob Wright. “While the off season is part of any year, we are delighted to be back at a track soon and see the registration list grow as the first race nears. Time to finish up the prep and head to the track. Can’t wait to see the FRP family again!”

Like 2021, FRP will use the Carolina Motorsports Park as their first event of the season and a kickoff to 2022. With up to an additional two hours of testing on Friday, there is a ton of track time to get set up and start the season. FRP will have ample track time for all the different run groups to shake off cobwebs and get tuned up for another full season of competition.

Wright continued, “There is still an opportunity to get registered and race this weekend. The weather looks great, and we invite anyone and everyone to come and check this out. FRP has taken major steps to increase communication trackside, and we can’t wait to show everyone that this weekend.”

Hoosier Tire will continue to serve the FRP family directly and will be on site for all tire purchases, mounting and balancing. A valuable partner in the series, we welcome Hoosier Tire back as the presenting partner of Formula Race Promotions. Carolina Motorsports Park has snack bar facilities, so we encourage you to support them as much as possible.

New for 2022: A Low Tech, High Impact Racing Decal - In Collaboration with Ikoniqa Motorsports Studio

Ikoniqa’s continued involvement with the Formula Race Promotions series brings about a new piece of tech to the series: race info QR codes. For 2022, teams and drivers will have the option to receive a special QR code decal they can place on their racecars. This QR code is linked to a live database of all the relevant information a driver or a team would need before, during, and after a race weekend. Teams and drivers will be able to register for events, check track schedules, see live track weather, check on-track results at the end of the day, and more, right in one place. No need to jump around the FRP website on your phone at the track to get info, it will all be nicely packaged and provided just a scan away. This simple yet effective tech integration, along with FRP's soon to be launched new website, is all designed to streamline the user experience for teams and competitors in the series.
