SMR/CellMark to Sponsor Foyt IndyCar Team

August 1, 2012

Lexington, OH – SMR and CellMark Paper, a current F2000 Championship Series team and Series sponsor/partner, has announced that it is sponsoring the No. 14 AJ Foyt IndyCar of Mike Conway for races at Mid-Ohio and Baltimore.

“CellMark and SMR are proud to be an associate sponsor for the Mike Conway No. 14 ABC IndyCar team. We have an ongoing connection that goes back many years and to be a small part of the team for Mid-Ohio and Baltimore is pretty exciting. Who knows where it will lead?” commented Rick Paul, team owner.

"I'm excited to have the opportunity to be with the Foyt team for these two races. Hoping to learn a little about what it takes to be a successful team at this level,” added driver Tim Paul.

In the F2000 Championship Series, SMR fields the No. 06 Van Diemen chassis for driver Tim Paul, with added engineering support from GTP Motorsports. Paul, thus far in 2012, has put together an ultra-consistent year, with eight straight top-eight finishes, including a pair of six places at the most recent rounds in New Jersey.

SMR/CellMark will be an associate sponsor on the No. 14 IndyCar at Mid-Ohio on August 5 and on the Streets of Baltimore on September 2.

The entire SMR team and sponsors will spend the race weekends with the team and be pitside during the races.

Hoping to get some pointers on how big time open wheel teams are run there are ongoing conversations for the team, with driver Tim Paul, to move up to the next level with the potential for support from Foyt Enterprises if a funding deal can be put in place.
