Skylar Robinson Ready for Thompson Speedway Showdown

August 29, 2014

Augusta, GA- While many kids are headed to class after summer break, 18 year-old Skylar Robinson is headed back to the race track this weekend for races 11 and 12 of the 14 race F2000 Championship Series.  The historic Thompson Speedway in Connecticut will play host to this weekend's events.  Currently, Robinson is the top scoring rookie and sits 2nd in overall championship points.

At the last round of the championship, the second generation driver secured two 2nd place finishes as well as setting a race lap record at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex.

“Pittsburgh went really well for us as we closed the gap to the points leader.  We have some good momentum going forward so we will be pushing for wins”, Skylar commented.

The 1.7 mile road course at Thompson was recently repaved this past summer.  Utilizing part of the famed oval, the track should deliver a smooth surface and a technical layout making it challenging for the drivers to learn.

“Even though I haven’t been there myself, the track and facilities look really nice.  I can’t wait to get out there!”, said the Georgia native.
