Primus Racing signs Liam Synder for F2000 debut at Mid-Ohio

June 25, 2018

Primus Racing has signed 15 year old Liam Snyder from Southlake, Texas to drive their Van Diemen Mazda MZR Powered F2000 chassis in the upcoming F2000 Championship Series event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, June 28- July 1.

Snyder who is a sophomore at Carroll High School started his racing career by driving a Spec Miata on parade laps at MSR Cresson at just age 11. After proceeding to go over 100mph his father realized it was time for him to start racing. Liam began racing in the LO206 category and each year moved up to a faster class until reaching shifter karts at age 13.

That same year Liam was enrolled in the Skip Barber Racing School where he learned the necessary skills to propel him forward in his driving career.

Using his experience from his practice in Spec Miata, Liam was instantly one of the quickest drivers in the field and was able to use his prior experience in the driving department to focus on learning and improving his race craft. Liam received his SCCA Novice License at age 14 and really began his transition from karts to cars.

That upcoming season Liam raced in both Formula Mazda and Spec Racer Ford. This year Liam has been competing in the Mazda powered GPFour series events with wins at NOLA and COTA. Liam has been a front-runner and a challenger for the podium at nearly every GPFour event that he has competed in and shows no signs of slowing down.

After competing in the GPFour event at Mid-Ohio just a few short weeks ago Liam is feeling very prepared heading into the weekend, “I see this weekend as a huge opportunity for my development as a driver. More competition will help me be the best that I can be. My goals will be to learn the car, and get a natural feel for it by the end of the weekend.”

“We are excited to have Liam on board for the weekend. We have been following him all season in our GPFour Championship and he has shown great form thus far. He has the right attitude and approach to his racing. He will definitely fit in around here!” said Primus Race Engineer & Co-Owner, Derich Cutshaw.

Be sure to keep an eye on our social media pages throughout the weekend for updates and photos from the event! All races will be live on the RaceMonitor App and more info, including a schedule for the weekend can be found at F2000Series.com!
