PittRace F2000 Post-Race Announcement

Upon review by the series officials, it became clear that there was error on the part of the Series in the line item rule for F2000 rain tires, inadvertently invalidating the hand grooved, current compound tire.  Many, but not all, of the teams were advised last year and early this year that the hand grooved tire would be allowed, hence the confusion Sunday.  At least half the field raced on the hand grooved tire believing they were legal.
 
In light of this, the penalty to the three cars that came to impound on the older tire is hereby rescinded. The series offers it sincere apology for this error.
