Osborne Leads F1600 Practice

Lexington, OH - Two 40-minute F1600 Championship Series practice sessions saw David Osborne (pictured, above) lead a Team Pelfrey sweep of the top three positions. Osborne was fastest with a lap of 1:29.645 around Mid-Ohio, ahead of teammates Jonthan Kotyk and Matthew Cowley. F1600 has three Championship rounds up for grabs at Mid-Ohio this weekend. Jonathan Kotyk was second fastest and is coming off a win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in June.
Matthew Cowley won all three F1600 races in a single day at Mid-Ohio in May, setting a Series record, , he was third fastest in afternoon practice.
Zach Holden was the first K-Hill Motorsports car and was fourth quick in practice. He said he is going into the week in full attack mode to re-take the Championship lead, and has new sponsorship from Irving Material Incorporation and Cherokee Concrete Pumping.
Cliff Johnson rounded out the top five in afternoon practice, running 22 laps in his Piper/Honda combination.
With a lap of 1:31.139, Chris Horans's Van Diemen/Honda was sixth fastest.
Ryan Bjerke put his Spectrum/Honda in the top ten for Raceworks, with the eighth fastest practice time.
Dan Pyanowski, a Masters Class driver, starts the day off unloading his own car out of his trailer.
