Morcom in Van Diemen for Momentum
Braselton, GA – A last minute deal has put Australian Nathan Morcom in a Van Diemen for the Road Atlanta F2000 weekend with Momentum Motorsports. Morcom previously campaigned a Van Diemen in 2011, winning in Virginia, before switching to the RFR chassis later in the year, and contesting it last month, also in Virginia, for Primus Racing.
“I’m thrilled beyond belief to have Nathan in the car,” said Phil Picard, team owner. “I was halfway across the country on business when I got the call and with the help of my son, Phil Jr., we were able to redirect the ADSA/Wright rig to my shop to pick up the car.”
He noted Morcom would have been in the Momentum Radon chassis if the car had been ready for rounds three and four of the seven-weekend, 14-race 2012 F2000 Championship Series season.
“I’m very excited to help Nathan and keep him in a car than on the sidelines,” continued Picard. “The Series needs international drivers of his quality and I’m hoping this turns into more than just this weekend.”
Picard and company will have a late night ahead of them in Georgia, needing to get Morcom fitted to the car in time for 8:30am practice on Thursday, May 10.
