May 14, 2014: Exclusive Autosport is proud to announce that reigning 2013 Toyo Tires F1600 Champion Jack Mitchell Jr. has re-signed with the team to contest the full season of the 2014 F1600 Formula F Championship Series. He will drive the #93 Exclusive Autosport / Spectrum / Sparco / Exclusive Management Inc. / Honda Racing HPD Formula 1600.

Mitchell Jr., a senior and honours student at Fenwick High school in Chicago, Illinois, ran a full season of the Ontario based Toyo Tires F1600 Championship (where he collected a championship) as well as a handful of races in the Quebec based Formula Tour 1600 Championship series in 2013.  He finished the year with five wins, four poles, 14 podiums and a track record.  Mitchell Jr. was also the 2012 Toyo Tires  F1600 A-Class Championship Rookie of the Year and 2012 Team USA Scholarship winner.  He travelled, with the Team USA Scholarship program, to the prestigious Formula Ford Festival of Racing where he finished 5th.

After competing in the Canadian F1600 circuit, Mitchell Jr. has decided to focus his efforts on the American F1600 Championship.  The series is based in the eastern United States and consists of 14 races taking place over seven event weekends.  The F1600 Championship Series will present a new set of challenges for the series rookie.  He will have to adapt to the spec series Hoosier Racing Tires as well as get reacquainted with race tracks he has not seen since his days in Skip Barber.  Mitchell Jr. is ready for the challenge and has already showed the field that he is looking to add a US Formula 1600 Championship to his resume.  In the opening rounds of F1600 Formula F Championship series competition April 12-13 at Road Atlanta, the Clarendon Hills native drove his #93 Exclusive Autosport / Spectrum / Honda from 18th position to finish in second place during race two.  He is currently sixth overall in the championship points standings, with a lot of racing left in the 2014 season.

The 18-year old driver will be attending Marquette University in Milwaukee in the fall which will allow him to continue his education as well as racing.

Mitchell Jr. says he is exhilarated to be back with Exclusive Autosport - a team he feels at home with.  He has been working with the Exclusive Autosport team owner Michael Duncalfe (also President and CEO of Exclusive Management Inc.) since 2010 when he first started racing at Skip Barber.

“I am exhilarated to be back with Exclusive Autosport for another year.  I want to thank Michael (Duncalfe - team owner) for being so supportive and getting everything together for another multi-series season. I feel more at home under the EA tent than I have anywhere else in my career so far, and the results have shown positively so far.  I am committed to working really hard on and off the track and continuing to focus on consistency.  With the great atmosphere we have under the tent at EA there is no excuse, we have one of the best cars in the field and a lot of experience.  I owe it to this team to get results and that is what we plan to do.  I am really looking forward to seeing what we are capable of in the US series within the next couple of months.   Thank you to everyone who supports me in my career; Exclusive Management Inc., Spectrum, Honda, Illinois Anesthesia, Windy City Anesthesia, Marquette University, Flex Watches, my family and of course the EA crew,” said Jack Mitchell Jr.

Official practice begins Friday May 16th at Watkins Glen International.  Follow all of the racing action by connecting with the team and with Jack Mitchell Jr. on Facebook and Twitter.
