Lime Rock Park is Next for Formula Race Promotions Competitors
It’s almost the holiday weekend in May but there is no holiday for Formula Race Promotions (FRP) teams and competitors. Back on track this coming weekend at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut, FRP’s F1600 and F2000 competitors will take part in the extended weekend as they continue to earn results and make a run to be FRP Champion.
FRP’s primary championships will compete over the weekend and be part of the massive SVRA Lime Rock Park Memorial Day Classic Speed Tour event. Practice sessions are on Friday, with wheel-to-wheel racing action on Saturday and Monday. Sunday is a quiet day at Lime Rock Park, with an at-track car show and other SVRA spectator events, this will be a full and fun weekend for all.
“Registration ends Thursday at midnight so there is still time to register and take part in our third event weekend of 2023,” expressed FRP Co-Owner Robert Wright. “F2000 competitors will get a pair of practice sessions, two separate qualifying sessions, and two races while F1600 and F1600 Masters drivers will have a practice, qualifying, and their usual three races, promising an exciting mix of drivers standing atop the podium.”

Wright continued, “Racing alongside Trans-Am and SVRA provides a more fan-friendly environment and opens our competitors and program to many more spectators. It is a great way for our drivers' partners to receive some additional exposure, and also introduce new people to FRP. Additionally, Lime Rock is beautiful this time of year and great for a family getaway, AND the F1600 races will again be live streamed, which is an exciting addition for FRP this season.”
