Full slate of competitors ready to take on Lime Rock Park on a holiday weekend

May 21, 2024

Nothing screams race season like Memorial Day weekend in May, and it is a chance for Formula Race Promotions teams and competitors to get back on track in Connecticut. Set to battle at the legendary Lime Rock Park, F1600, F1600 Masters, and F2000 drivers will battle wheel-to-wheel in the third event of the 2024 season.

“We have all of our season drivers and teams registered and ready to go at Lime Rock Park, so expecting another great weekend of competition,” explained Bob Wright. “After two great event weekends so far this year, Lime Rock is a different sort of track, a 1.5-mile bull ring if you will.  It’s very fast and gets your attention.”

Due to local by-laws, there will be no on-track action on Sunday. Competitors will hit the track Friday for practice, and races will happen on Saturday and Monday. With championship battles heating up, valuable championship points in three different classes will be on the line as drivers aim to add to their season-long total and make a run at the title.

Wright added, “It’s hard to believe, but we are already well into the 2024 season. We have some great tracks coming up and want to increase entries for the rest of the year, so we are inviting everyone to attend at least one of our remaining five events.”

With a program designed to help karters make the jump to cars or provide a fun, equal, and level playing field for veteran racers, FRP is one of the premier series in the country to accomplish both goals. Being able to transition drivers up the motorsports ladder, FRP has been the launching pad for several motorsports professionals both on and off the track.
