Keith Grant Takes Second Victory of 2017

July 29, 2017

Wampum, PA - Keith Grant scored his second Atlantic Championship Series victory of the 2017 season at Pittsburgh International Race Complex in round nine. Grant set the overall track record earlier in the day during qualifying in the No. 40 Polestar Racing Group machine, and put in a masterful pace-setting drive to win over Peter Portante and Richard Zober in an all green-flag race at the newly-paved 19-turn road course.

Quotes from the Top Finishers:

Keith Grant:

"It was a good day. The car felt really good in qualifying. It's easy to drive when you have a car that handles that well, so it was just a smooth race."

Peter Portante:

"I can't complain with second given the circumstances of today. Really this win is down to the crew and all the guys that worked on the car at K-Hill Motorsports. It is all about them. We put a new motor in the car right before the race. The car has been getting good on long runs all weekend, and we have been making progress with each session and lap. We have a little work left to do, and we will probably make a small change for tomorrow in hopes to challenge more. It should be another good one."

Richard Zober (Masters Class Winner):

"First I need to thank Formula Race Promotions. This is the best Series, they do a great job. It was a fun race. The Comprent team has been making the car better and better. I need to thank them and Zober Industries. It was fun but a lot of work running this track with 19 turns."

Also, of note, David Grant led the first handful of laps after an outside move to take the lead on the start. Any potential for a win was erased when a reported shift problem brought the No. 29 to pit road, ending his day.
