K-Hill Signs Two F1600 Drivers for 2018
K-Hill Motorsports would like to announce two of our F1600 drivers for the 2018 season. We are excited to say Yuven Sundaramoorthy is back for a second year!! Also, a huge welcome aboard to Tyler O’Connor!!
Yuven is a 14-yo Wisconsin-born boy living in Upstate NY. He is an ambitious motorsports racer, currently and official driver in the entry-level pro F1600 open-wheel series. 2017 Results: 25 Races; 2 Wins; 7 Podiums; 1 Pole; 2 Fast race laps Outside of racing, Yuven is an excellent student, in 10th grade at Guilderland HS in Guilderland, NY. He was part of Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth. He is a double-black snow-boarder and a lacrosse player. He plays trumpet in his school band. And he is part of the programming team in FIRST Team250 Robotics in Colonie, NY. During his rookie season with K-Hill Motorsports his two impressive wins came out of Indianapolis Motor Speedway and New Jersey Motorsports Park. In this coming season, Yuven will not only run a full race schedule, but will also be running in some selected 1600 Canadian races.
“I learned a lot in my rookie season. I feel another year in F1600 with K-Hill will help me further develop my race craft and competitiveness.” Yuven Sundaramoorthy added.
“I feel that Yuven returning back with our team for his second season means he will absolutely be a Championship Contender. Yuven is a year older, a year smarter, with a year more experience. Yuven had a great pace all season long for being the youngest driver in the field. Without a doubt this coming season I will expect to see him lead our team.” Kris Kaiser said.
Tyler O'Connor is a 20yr. old young man from New Hartford CT. He grew up watching racing and enjoyed going to Lime Rock with his family. He also liked to spend his days hitting the indoor track at On Track Karting in Wallingford. Less than a year and a half ago, O'Connor participated in the Skip Barber School of Racing at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville. O’Connor took part in the Lucas Oil School of Racing Car Series where he finished 3rd.
Tyler recently ran a very successful first test weekend with our K-Hill team at NJMP. After that he proceeded to participate in the last regional race there. He had great pace and ended up beating Neil Verhagen’s Track Record! (Neil being our former driver that now drives for Red Bull) We are more than pleased to announce that Tyler O’Connor has signed with us for the 2018 race season to be entered into the F1600 Formula F Championship Series!
