K-Hill Motorsports Sweeps F1600 Winter Races

The two race tour would kick off at the Palm Beach International Raceway in Jupiter, Florida. Young-guns Neil Verhagen and Calvin Ming would show competitive pace throughout the weekend and would go on to qualify 3rd and 4th, respectively. Once the green flag flew for the race, both would showcase their race craft and pace as they positioned themselves for a shot at the win. When the dust settled, Guyanese pilot Ming would take the win with a thrilling last lap pass. Verhagen would overcome contact earlier in the race to finish 3rd.

A week later, teams were back in action at the legendary Sebring international Raceway to finish up their winter tour. Verhagen would display his pace in practice topping the speed charts several sessions. This being Ming’s first time on the Sebring full course, he would improve each and every session making it known that he would be a contender for the win by the time the race rolled around. The pair would again qualify a solid 3rd and 4th.

Making it through the first lap of the race cleanly, both drivers jockeyed for position throughout the race. As the laps wound down, the action started to heat up. Ming would make a power move on the last lap headed to turn 1, and miraculously defend the point for the rest of the lap to take his second win in two races. Verhagen drove with maturity displaying patience on his way to a 2nd place finish, .036 of a second behind his teammate for a K-Hill Motorsports 1-2.
