K-Hill Confirms Five Car Atlantic Team

Abbottstown, PA -K-Hill Motorsports has confirmed a five car Atlantic Championship Series team for 2012. Drivers include Bruce Hamilton, Jean-Luc Liverato, Lee Brahin and Andy Schaufelberger for the three-weekend, six-race inaugural Championship.

Kris Kaiser, K-Hill Motorsports owner and past Atlantic driver is looking forward to 2012. “I am excited that two of three races are being held at our ‘home tracks’ of Summit Point and New Jersey,” he said. “I am hoping that will we see a variety of Atlantic cars and driver and teams from around the country.”

Hamilton, out of Monkton, MD, will drive the No. 36, having joined K-Hill Motorsports, a leading Atlantic team, in 2009. Hamilton has contested both Formula Atlantic and also raced a Brabham BT-36. In 2011 he competed in his first Runoffs in a Atlantic and finished eighth overall after running a solid third until a last lap spin. Hamilton, who is married to wife Vickie, also plans to race in the 2012 Runoffs.

“I looking forward to competing in the inaugural Atlantic Championship Series. These are great cars to drive and a great group of competitors in all respects,” he noted

Jean-Luc Liverato will graduate to Atlantic competition in the No. 8, from pro spec racer competition, as well as CSR. He has also set two track records in two attempts in the CSR class.

Liverato is on the road to qualifying for the 2012 Runoffs after competing in five National races so far in 2012, winning both National races at Sebring International Raceway in January. He and wife, Katie, reside in Milton, GA. Liverato credits his wife for getting him in to racing.

Liverato added: “The Atlantic Championship Series will be a great opportunity for me to compete in the Atlantic category.”

Lee Brahin will drive the No. 24 Swift 016 entry, having run with K-Hill since 2006. He currently owns a Swift 016, Lola290, Brabham, Ralt RT41, and a Hesketh.

Brahin and his wife, Rosemary, reside in New Jersey where Brahin is a partner in the ownership of the New Jersey Motorsports Park. Unfortunately he will miss running the first race in Atlanta due to a Grand Am conflict.

Andy Schaufelberger will be the fourth car in the announced K-Hill lineup in the No. 34 Swift 016.

The team expects to add another car before the Series opens at Road Atlanta, May 10-12.
