Johnston sits fifth in the F1600 points going into Lime Rock.

Wow, it is hard to believe that it is September already. Soon the leaves will be changing, it is getting darker at night earlier, and my favourite, the snow will start to fall. It has been a very busy summer with plenty of racing.

We are really looking forward to getting back to the track in a couple of weeks. Lime Rock Park is definitely one of my favourite places to race.

The short technical track is a lot of fun. We had a great weekend there in 2009 racing in the F2000 Championship Series.

The Warpspeed race team has had a few race weekends since our last outing at Mid-Ohio.  We have been to Shannonville Motorsports Park and Mosport International Raceway and had a lot of fun. This has also given us great amounts of track time to practice and work on car set-up for the last two F1600 Formula F Championship Series weekends. We like to take the opportunity to race our Van Diemen with the Honda HPD engine package as often as we can.

It has also been a busy summer off the track, working at my dad’s store. The shop is a power sports dealership that sells Arctic Cat and Kawasaki products, with summer just as busy as winter. With September arriving, we are now prepping for the winter season……winter is what is on every snowmobilers’ mind. The 2012 winter season is a big year for Arctic Cat with the unveiling of the new products, which have been very popular. For us at Warp 9 Sports, winter can’t come soon enough.

With the end of summer here, it is hard to believe that I am now finished school. Usually at this time I am preparing to head back to school and delve deep into studies, while still focusing on my last couple of weekends at the track.

It is quite a different feeling knowing that I am not getting back into school work, papers and exams, but heading out into the working world.

Anyway, enough about that, my thoughts are on the last couple of race weekends for the 2012 season that are left.
