HP-Tech to Test Petrobras Winner Olin Galli

October 31, 2013
Olin Galli will test for HP-Tech in November.

Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Championship winning F2000 Series team HP-Tech Motorsport will test 17-year-old Brazilian Olin Galli at the end of November following Galli’s win in Selective Kart Petrobras in Brazil. Galli will pilot one of the team’s Van Diemen F2000 race cars at the Sebring circuit, part of his prize for winning a scholarship with his victory in the highly competitive and nationally-recognized karting competition.

The test is organized with Florida-based HP-Tech, along with agency XYZ Live, who signed an agreement with Selective Kart Petrobras earlier in the year to offer unique rewards and prizes to the winner of the karting shootout, which featured spec karts to better evaluate talent.

“We are happy to welcome Olin under our awning at Sebring,” commented team owner Jorge Herrera. “It will be a full-day test at Sebring, giving him a lot of time to get a feel for the F2000 car. We look forward to working with him based on his success in the shootout.”

XYZ Live USA’s Fernando Coser added: "We are delighted with this partnership because Kart Selective Petrobras has been a serious event for many years and has emerged as the main source of talent, since it gathers the cream of the crop in Brazilian karting.”

Binho Carcasci, organizer of Kart Selective Petrobras, noted: “I would like to thank XYZ Sports for their support, which has enabled a unique prize for Galli.”

Along with the test, Galli received a modest Petrobras-backed scholarship to take with him for the 2014 season, which amounts to around $65,000.

“This F2000 test will certainly help me in my career,” said Galli. “This is a huge opportunity.”

HP-Tech is a Championship winning F2000 Series and Ferrari Challenge team. Campaigning three cars during the 2013 F2000 season, the team saw multiple podiums and strong performances with an international mix of aspiring drivers, including 15-year old Santino Ferrucci, Brazilian Roberto Lorena, and Jose Montiel, from Venezuela.
