Holden Fast on Friday at Pittsburgh

Wampum, PA - Zach Holden was quickest in Friday F1600 Championship Series over two long green-flag practice sessions. The K-Hill Motorsports driver, coming off a win at Mid-Ohio, ran the fastest time at the newly paved Pittsburgh International Race Complex with a lap of 1:47.062 coming late in the day.

Matthew Cowley

Second fastest on the day was Matthew Cowley, the points leader, who ran a time of 1:48.044 in the afternoon session. His quick time came on his 12th of 18 flying laps around the 19-turn track.

David Osborne and Jonathan Kotyk

As for David Osborne and Jonathan Kotyk, neither Team Pelfrey driver completed a lap on Friday as they were both at Mid-Ohio for functions relating to the Team USA Scholarship. Both drivers were named as candidates for the famous scholarship, and will arrive at Pittsburgh for qualifying on Saturday morning.

Yuven Sundaramoorthy

Third quick on the practice time sheets was Yuven Sundaramoorthy, in the No. 13 K-Hill Mygale/Honda.

Mike Scanlan

Masters Class competitor Mike Scanlan ran the quickest Masters Class lap of the day in both sessions, with a best time of 1:49.026. Scanlan, of note, also ran more laps than anyone in the afternoon session with 22 laps logged.

Chuck Horn

A solid afternoon outing sent Chuck Horn up the time sheets as well, as the Masters Class driver was fifth quick.

F1600 has three races on tap at Pittsburgh this weekend following Saturday morning qualifying. Attendance is free for all spectators
