Haas Racing and LD Racing Team to Run the FRP Series
Haas Racing and LD Racing, both from south Florida, have announced that they will combine efforts and run a pair of Piper DF-5’s in the 2018 FRP F1600 series. Haas Racing ran the series in 2017 with a single DF-5. LD Racing is a well established Karting Prep shop in South Florida. They provide Racing Kart Prep service for customer owned Karts and also provide rental karts. They service all the south Florida Karting tracks (Orlando, PBIR and Homestead) but their base is PBIR.
Christian Lall Dass will be driving the Number 92 Piper and will chasing the overall F1600 championship title. Christian is 20 years old and has extensive experience in Karting including many wins and was the 2015 ROK Cup USA Vice National Champion (Rok Shifter). He has shown impressive pace in cars since his debut last November at Sebring. He qualified under the lap record at the SCCA Majors race at Homestead in January. In a Run-Offs quality field, he finished 2nd on the track at the following race at Sebring and ran within a few tenths of the lap record. An unfortunate minor technical infraction took him off the podium. He will be looking to run with the leaders from the first race on and is hoping for some race wins.
Joel Haas will be driving the Number 93 Piper and will be chasing the Masters F1600 championship title. Haas had three class wins and the title in hand last year and needed only to complete one race on the final weekend to wrap up the title. Unfortunately, business commitments prevented and appearance and Mike Scanlan took the 2017 title. He is looking forward to some close racing within the masters group and plans on challenging Scanlan for the 2018 Title.

(PSI) is a rapidly expanding 300 person engineering and product development firm that designs, manufactures, instruments and assembles prototype Turbine Engines for aircraft and power generation. PSI is looking to add engineers and people with CNC and CMM experience to their staff. Haas will be available at the races to discuss employment opportunities. Piper Race Cars designs, manufactures and assembles FF and FC cars (among other things) in their factory in California.
