Group A Racing Signs Colin Alexander

After announcing their return to the series, Group A Racing is pleased to announce that they have signed Colin Alexander for his rookie season in the F2000 Championship Series.

Alexander got his first taste of Group A Racing and their F2000 Zetec cars, during a test at the New Jersey Motorsports Park. On a rain soaked weekend, Colin showed excellent driving skills and car control while coming to grips with a pro spec F2000 car.

“Colin impressed us a lot during the test he did with us. He certainly had his hands full; with wet conditions, a new track and a new style of car. He showed a very good understanding of what he was doing, during the course of the day. It is obvious to me, that the training he received from the Bertil Roos Racing School and race series will serve him well going into this season.” Commented team owner Joe Scarallo

Colin Alexander is from Maryland and competed in the 2008 Bertil Roos F2000 Series showing nothing but increasing speed and race craft, as the year went on. In 2007 Alexander won the inaugural Rookie Runoff with the Bertil Roos Racing School, giving him a scholarship for the following year in the Bertil Roos F-2000 Series. In Colin’s rookie season in the Bertil Roos F-2000 Series he collected 8 podiums, 13 top fives, 15 top tens and finished seventh in the championship en route to the Rookie of the Year title. Now he is looking to make his professional debut in the F2000 Championship Series with Group A Racing.

“I was completely honored that Group A Racing gave me the opportunity to do the test. So when the chance came to race full time I could not say no. After doing some research with other teams it was a no brainer to join Group A. With all their experience, and getting to work with Joey (Scarallo) it was an easy choice.” Said Colin Alexander

Group A Racing, based out of Long Island New York is making the return to F2000 racing after a 10 year hiatus, when they competed in the U.S Pro F-2000 series with Joey Scarallo. With the announcement of Jonathan Scarallo joining the team last week, this leaves two spots open for the team. They can work with drivers who do and do not have their own cars.

Colin will be supported by Coldwell Banker Commercial and Reality, MOMO, and the Bertil Roos Racing School.
