Grant Charges to First Victory of 2017

July 2, 2017

Lexington, OH - After taking pole, David Grant led every lap to score the win in round eight of the 2017 Atlantic Championship Series season held on Sunday afternoon at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Having finished on the podium in every race so far this season, Grant scored his first win of 2017 in the No. 29 Polestar Racing Group Swift 016/Mazda. Keith Grant and Andrew Bujdoso followed. Points leader and Saturday winner Peter Portante ran as high as second before a car problem ended his day. Bruce Hamilton won the Masters Class.

Quotes from the Top Finishers:

David Grant:

"It was a great race. After yesterday's off track experience it was key to keep it on the track today. It took a long time to get back in the winner's circle, but I'm glad to be back here. The car was great today and Jim and Pam (Polestar) did a great job getting it ready. I'm glad to finally beat Peter (Portante), I've been wanting to all year. I finally got this under my belt and hopefully we can click off some more."

Keith Grant:

"I couldn't get up behind Andrew, I would close (the gap) in the Key Hole but couldn't get by him on the straight. Finally I out braked him and pulled away after that, but it was challenging."

Andrew Bujdoso:

"The downforce is a big deal in the fast stuff. Overall it was a lot of fun, I'm looking forward to beating these guys, time is all it takes."

Bruce Hamilton:

"The car worked really well, thank you to K-Hill Motorsports. It was great this weekend, thank you to Hoosier and Formula Race Promotions."
