FRP iRacing Challenge Presented by Hoosier Tire Continues Tonight at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

May 21, 2020

“Series II reaches midway point”

With the first two events of the FRP iRacing Challenge Series II now complete, three drivers have solidified themselves as the ones to beat as we head to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this evening. Taking place at 7:00pm EDT, Justin Hillle (Everard Motorsports) will lead the 35 driver field to Lexington, Ohio for rounds three and four as he looks to keep his championship points lead and his podium streak alive.

“Road Atlanta provided for some close racing and great finishes, and we are expecting nothing less from Mid-Ohio,” explained Bob Wright. “The long flowing racetrack brings drafting into play more than ever, and I am anticipating some last lap passes for the win. It is going to be good.”

With Hille atop the point standings courtesy of his round one victory, Team Pelfrey’s Dylan Christie, round two winner, and Series One Champion Max Esterson are close behind with the trio separated by only six markers. With on track testing beginning throughout North America, both Christie and Esterson will be on track at VIR and miss the event, opening the door for others. Brad Hayes Racing Dan Clarke sits fourth while Canadian and Britain West Motorsports pilot Mac Clark is fifth. The top-five in the points chase did not have a finish outside the top-six at Road Atlanta as consistency is proving to be key to be in title contention.  Additionally, Formula Race Promotions will welcome Brian Farnham to the FRP iRacing Challenge.

While viewers have been able to watch via Apex Racing TV’s YouTube page for past events, rounds three and four will bring a new viewing platform to the table as followers will also be able to watch via Facebook Live Stream. Working to merge pages and provide a more streamlined brand, the live stream broadcast will be available on both current remaining FRP series pages, the F2000 Championship Series and Atlantic Championship Series.

Wright continued, “While we have some downtime, we are continuing to build our brand and make some changes internally to better promote the FRP program as a whole. In the very near future, we will have Formula Race Promotions branded pages on all social media platforms, but we ask for patience as we continue the process of merging programs together.”
