Formula Race Promotions Reaches Mid-Season with Pitt Race Event

June 3, 2024

With the Pittsburgh International Race Complex (Pitt Race) event this weekend, the 2024 Formula Race Promotions program is at the midway point of the 2024 season. Heading to Wampum, Pennsylvania, for the fourth event weekend of seven, championship battles will begin to heat up as the end of the season is on the horizon.

“It is a busy time in our schedule with two events in three weeks and three in five,” explained Bob Wright. “We are in the thick of it now, and this is the part of the year that will make and break drivers' and teams' championship dreams. PittRace always provides great wheel-to-wheel racing, and we are looking for more this weekend.”

With F1600, F1600 Masters, Atlantic, and F2000 competitors on track, it will be a full slate of racing at the 2.780-mile facility. With a ton of elevation changes that put teams and drivers to the test, the 19-turn facility provides for some close racing, strategic drafting, and close finishes, especially in the F1600 category.

In the F1600 class, Sebastian Mateo Naranjo will look to continue his presence at the front of the field after a triple podium weekend at Lime Rock Park, while F2000 driver Gabriel Cahan will aim to build on his career-best FRP event, which included a pole position and two race wins. With momentum on these drivers' sides, they are peaking at the right time to make a significant charge for the championship.

Wright added, “With Pitt Race located in in a more central location, we are expecting a big turn out and we hope to see you trackside!”
