Salem, NH – The new F1600 Formula F Championship Series triple-header weekend format opened last month at Road Atlanta where three different drivers won a trio of extremely close races. Now the teams and drivers will visit Watkins Glen this weekend for rounds four, five and six of the 21-race 2015 season.

Australian Scott Andrews scored the most points in April, with three podium finishes including a victory, putting him in control of the point standings in his Exclusive Autosport Spectrum/Honda.

Andrews’ closest challengers this weekend may be his teammates, American Jack Mitchell Jr., who also won at Road Atlanta, and Canadian Thomas McGregor, who put a solid weekend together in the third red and black Spectrum/Honda.

Coming off a best finish of second at the season opener, Steve Bamford is looking for his second F1600 win and was frequently in the lead over the course of three races at Road Atlanta. Bamford took all three Masters Class victories that weekend, but Jim Goughary hopes to rebound to the form that saw him win outright at Watkins Glen in 2014.

A competitive Masters Class will see Mike Scanlan and Art Foster, who both ran well at Road Atlanta, in the mix at Watkins Glen, along with Dan Pyanowski and Kenneth Bouquillon, set to make their 2015 debuts.

K-Hill Motorsports will make the jump to two cars, with 2014 F2000 Championship runner-up Skylar Robinson alongside the aggressive Austin Mack, who scored a second place finish at Road Atlanta.

After an incident that took out two cars last time, Team Pelfrey hopes to rebound with a trio of yellow and black Mygales entered. Andrew Hobbs leads team performance thus far, scoring pole at Road Atlanta. Robert Megennis will need a huge points weekend as the young driver was sidelined, scoring just a single point in three races. Ben Auriemma will be looking to make up ground as well after he was forced into a back-up car during Road Atlanta that was loaned out from K-Hill.

Will Harvey will lead the charge from Chastain Motorsports, but will hope to have a more consistent weekend. His results in the season opener included laps in the lead, two crashes, and a third place finish, his first visit to the F1600 podium. He will be joined at Chastain by Parker Chase and Andy Lewis in three blue Mygale/Hondas for the Indiana-based team.

Kyle Kirkwood also found victory lane at Road Atlanta and the podium twice, but will have his work cut out for him the rest of the season as Kirkwood will miss Watkins Glen for Chastain and is expected back at VIR.

Friday opens the weekend with two practice sessions followed by morning qualifying on Saturday. Race one of the weekend goes off at 4:30pm on Saturday, followed by race two, 10:55am on Sunday morning, and race three, 4:25pm Sunday afternoon. Follow the action live on www.F1600Series.com.
