Lexington, OH - A full preview of the weekend, talking to select drivers that make up the grid of the F1600 Championship Series.

Calvin Ming, No. 82 Entry:

“I just have to focus and make sure I can put down some fast laps. But I do hope I can get another finish at the top step of the podium this weekend,” Ming said. “Mid-Ohio is a new track, I’ve never been there so I will have to make good use of the practice time. Also another challenge for me is getting back adjusted to the F1600 after recently racing in other winged formula cars and in karting.”

Doug Voss, No. 47 Entry:

“I’m hoping for Masters Class podiums,” Voss said. “I have a great support network with Ski Motorsports prepping and engineering the car and coaching from Kearney Driver Development.  My Spectrum chassis is fantastic and Honda builds incredible engines so I’d say the key to meeting my expectation is resting between my ears.  Get my head straight and get in tune with the track and I like my chances.”

Kaylen Frederick, No. 80 Entry:

“My expectations at Mid-Ohio are to build on experience and momentum from the VIR races,” said Frederick. “Having led a race at VIR and running as high as third in both other races, my plan is to drive forward at Mid-Ohio and stay there. I’ll work closely with my Team Pelfrey teammates in practices to find the fast lap and set-up. From there, I’m going to drive smoothly and consistently, and the speed will come by itself.”
