Salem, NH – The F1600 Formula F Championship Series is expanding for 2015, and will feature seven triple-race weekends. The Formula Race Promotions operated Series has quickly become the place for up and coming talent to compete with the U.S. and Canada’s best established Formula F drivers. A traditional seven-weekend/14-race schedule has been turned into a 21-race schedule for the 2015 season.

On top of the big news, responding to teams asking for triple-race weekends, has been the addition of a new preseason non-points winter exhibition event at Palm Beach International Raceway in Florida, scheduled for February 12-14.

The points paying F1600 season will start in Road Atlanta in April before moving to a now-traditional May date at Watkins Glen. VIRginia International Raceway opens June and the Series pairs up with F2000 and Atlantic on all seven race weekends, including a July 4th weekend trip to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

July then closes with a trip to Pittsburgh International Race Complex, but now on the brand new 2.9-mile high-speed road course. For the first time since 2012 F1600 returns to New Jersey Motorsports Park on the Thunderbolt circuit in late August.

The season will conclude with a second visit to the new Pittsburgh circuit during fall foliage season in mid-October. All race weekends will be run in conjunction with the North American Road Racing Association.

Formula Race Promotions has also entered into a contract to run a non-points weekend at the end of the year at the new Dominion Raceway in Thornburg, Virginia. A date and weekend format will be announced in the first quarter of the new year.
