Double Points at New Jersey to Close Out 2018 FRP Season
Salem, NH – The 2018 Formula Race Promotions (FRP) season has been extended to include a seventh weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park based on demand as a Sept. 14-16 date has been added to the calendar to feature the conclusions of the Atlantic, F2000 and F1600 seasons. The invitational-only event will also feature one double points race for each Championship.
The three-day weekend at New Jersey Motorsport Park’s Thunderbolt course will feature two races each for Atlantic and F2000, while the F1600 paddock will see a traditional triple-header event format.
Of note, the F1600 schedule is now 21 races, with each of the seven weekends feature three races.
The Atlantic and F2000 schedules remain at 14 races as well, with all weekends featuring double races.
Invitations will be extended to all regular entrants in good standing, while new entries and those looking to sample FRP competition will be subject to review by series officials.
It will mark the second consecutive year all three Championships will conclude at New Jersey, as an exciting October weekend in 2017 saw Peter Portante clinch the Atlantic title, while Brandon Dixon won in F2000 and Matthew Cowley took home the Championship in F1600.
FRP will announce which races will offer double points in the near future.
