August 21, 2018

Colin Mullan, from Danville, CA, will race In the Formula Race Promotions F1600 Championship Series event at Summit Point, WV over the August 24-26 weekend.

Colin will join the Rice Race Prep team fresh from their strong race-winning performance at the Keystone Speedfest at PIRC.

Colin began his racing career in 2008 at age six building up an impressive resume of accomplishments across a variety of racing platforms, including karting, quarter midgets, Mini Cup stock cars, spec Miata, and FormulaSpeed cars.

In 2016, he was crowned champion of the Sanzaru Games Karting series in Junior Rotax, competed in the Skip Barber Formula school, and was awarded the VMB Driver Development Scholarship. In 2017, he won 4 of 14 races in the west coast Formula Car Challenge.

In 2018, he joined the Mini JCW team to race in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, and comes to Summit Point from VIR the previous weekend where he won the race in the ST class. Colin is also a nominee for a 2018 Team USA Scholarship.

Greg Rice reports, " In a very unique situation, we have now run four Team USA Nominees in exactly one event during the last 13 months . Colin joins Jonathan Kotyk, Simon Sikes, and Braden Eves, in that select group. We announced our 2019 Driver Search last week and we strive to get more drivers of this caliber into our cars for complete programs going forward. It is very rewarding to be able to plug good drivers into our program and see our cars be so competitive."

There will be 3 days of action at Summit Point Raceway featuring the FRP classes of F1600 , F2000, and Formula Atlantic. Right Coast Formula F and Formula Vee Challenge Cup are also on the schedule at this scenic track just south of the Washington, DC area. For more information visit RiceRacePrep.com or contact
