CellMark Paper and SMR to Sponsor 2013 Awards
Mahopac, NY – For the fourth consecutive season, CellMark Paper and Screaming Monkey Racing (SMR) will sponsor a variety of awards and cash prizes for F2000 Championship Series racers.
The prize list starts with the ever-popular Hard Charger Award, sponsored by CellMark Paper, which is a season-long competition culminating in a $1,000 check.
CellMark Paper, of Norwalk, CT, a division of CellMark AB based in Gothenburg, Sweden, and longtime primary sponsor of Screaming Monkey Racing and driver Tim Paul, is proud to support the F2000 Hard Charger Award for 2013.
F2000 officials will keep track of positions gained from qualifying (grid order) to official finishing spot in each race, and the driver that gains the most over the course of the season will receive the $1,000 prize. To be eligible a driver must participate in 8 of 14 races with CellMark decals on his or her car, and be present at the Series banquet following the Summit Point weekend.
For the third straight year, the Flying Monkey $500 Award will be given out at the Series banquet in August, which is awarded to someone who generally flies under the radar on race weekend but is a big part of the success of the Series. Recent winners include Lenore Panas, Dave Siegfried, John Dunbrook and Sarah Bonnier.
"SMR and CellMark are thrilled to be back supporting the F2000 in 2013. 2012 was an exciting and competitive year, and we expect this year to be even more challenging. As one of the great ladder series in open-wheel racing, it takes team work, dedication and resiliency to be successful. Making the most of every opportunity and charging hard consistently are what CellMark and this series are all about,” noted CellMark Paper National Director Rick Paul.
The SMR group is also throwing in a $250 “Sixth Place” Championship award, the first place in the points that has not paid a prize in the past, and also, coincidentally, the Championship finishing position of SMR driver Tim Paul the last two years.
