CellMark Paper and SMR Sponsor Awards for 2011

March 14, 2011

Sharon, CT – CellMark Paper and SMR are sponsoring a number of awards for the 2011 F2000 Championship Series season and the inaugural F1600 Formula F Championship Series tour. The CellMark Paper Hard Charger will be back, a season-long competition awarding a year-end cash prize to whichever driver improves their position the most over the course of the season for both F2000 and F1600.

For F2000, a “Flying Monkey” award will introduced for 2011, a $1,000 cash prize to the champion, along with a $500 F2000 “Award of Excellence” in a category to be determined “at the last minute.”

CellMark Paper, of Norwalk, CT, a division of CellMark AB based in Gothenburg, Sweden, and longtime primary sponsor of SMRacing, is proud to support the F2000/F1600 Hard Charger Awards for 2011. Along with SMR, CellMark is also supporting the 2011 F2000 Champion’s Award.

Rick Paul, National Retail Sales Director for CellMark Paper and owner of SMRacing, said:  "We applaud the organization, determination, skill and competitive spirit required to win these awards. The attributes are similar to those found in any successful business organization.”

SMR will enter the 2011 season with a two-car team under the GTP Motorsports banner. Tim Paul will drive the #06 with a second driver to be named later.

Last year, Paul Farmer in a GTP Motorsports Van Diemen took the CellMark Hard Charger award, improving his position 52 places over the course of the 2010 season.

"We will also sponsor a new award for 2011 - the discretionary 'Flying Monkey' award which will be given to the F2000 team or driver deemed most deserving of this prestigious award,” continued Paul. “Currently SMR and CellMark are working on a comprehensive mathematical matrix of measurable core competencies for the ‘Flying Monkey’ that may not be complete until 15 minutes before the Championship banquet in October at Watkins Glen”.

Series Managing Director Michael Rand added: "The continuing support of Rick Paul and Cellmark Paper has extended to the companion series to F2000, the F1600 Formula F Championship Series, and we welcome them back with great appreciation for their involvement."
