BULLETIN: Atlantic Championship

February 20, 2026

Last week, FRP announced a proposed structural change to the Atlantic Championship Series. The response from the paddock was immediate and decisive.

“Keep it unchanged was the overwhelming response to our idea,” said series owner Bob Wright. “My phone started ringing right away with calls, texts, and emails from drivers who made it clear they wanted to retain the 2025 format.”

After carefully reviewing the feedback, FRP has elected to maintain the proven two-class structure that competitors have supported in recent seasons.

The Swift 016 cars will return to their own dedicated class, while the Atlantic Open Class will continue to follow the SCCA FA GCR for car eligibility, consistent with the 2026 regulations. Entry fees, points distribution, and prize money will be adjusted accordingly to reflect the restored format.

FRP appreciates the strong engagement from its drivers and looks forward to delivering another competitive and well-supported Atlantic Championship season.
