BGR Piper RaceCars Announce a Two-Car Team For Full Season Campaign With FRP F1600 Championship

February 6, 2026

The Canadian team will contest the full season with two of their returning young racers who both scored multiple wins in their home F1600 Championship. Christian Menezes and Boss Patel will pilot the latest versions of the Piper DL7/Hondas.  The move to FRP is to expand the horizon of new tracks, new competition, and put to use everything they learned in their rookie season.

“I am very excited to join the grid as a full-time team this year after sampling last season.  It has been something we have wanted to do for a long time now, and the opportunity to do so with two outstanding young drivers has everyone on the team excited.  I did the very first FRP F1600 race at VIR myself and have always wanted to go back. Bob Wright and his team run a terrific program. We enjoyed our outings in 2025 and can’t wait to get started” explained Team Owner Brian Graham.

Christian was the runner-up in the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship and won Rookie of the Year. Boss finished 3rd in his rookie campaign.  Both drivers are busy on the simulators, learning the new tracks they will visit for the first time this coming season, and prepping for a hard-fought season.

"The 2025 season with BGR was the turning point in my racing career. After winning multiple races and the ROY, I'm super excited to bring my talents down to the States! Racing at some of the most historic tracks in North America is a dream come true, and I can't wait to push myself against the toughest competition and keep learning every weekend. I will give everything I have in pursuit of wins and a championship," comments Christian Menezes.

Boss Patel continued, “After a successful 2025 campaign, I could not be more thrilled to drive with BGR this year. I have put in the work and now it is time to see what I can do in the FRP environment.”  B

The shop is busy prepping the cars and implementing the latest updates to the Piper DL7’s.  This will be another busy season, with the team competing in two championships.  Along with the FRP schedule, the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship also has 7 rounds.  Additional SCCA races will be contested as well, with a plan to attend the Run Offs in October.  You can follow the BGR season via their social media platforms.
