another-strong-finish-for-mygale-honda-f1600-at-mid-ohio

The Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Agajanian Mygale/Honda team lead another strong charge at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Sunday as teammates Garett Grist and Brandon Newey finished second and fourth, respectively.

The competition on track was intense, as the top five cars gained a substantial lead on the rest of the field and shared a number of lead changes as they fought their way to the finish. Grist, the 17-year-old Canadian native and member of the Sofina Foods Driver Development program, drove his Mygale/Honda to a second place, podium finish for the second time this season.

"The weekend was fantastic," said Grist. "It was my first time racing at Mid-Ohio and both our Mygale cars were fast. It's really great to bounce back strong after the race in New Jersey. I really worked on managing my tires through out the weekend and it paid off in the end. I had more tires left and was able to make the last lap pass in the Carousel to grab second place.

Everyone has been working hard and I think we are in really good shape for the next race at Summit Point."

Grist's teammate, Newey, was also able to push to the front of the field and just missed a podium finish after having to deal with a tire vibration the entire race. Newey still maintains the lead in the overall F1600 Championship Series points battle.

"Mid Ohio was a great weekend for us as a team," said Newey. "My Mygale/Honda was handling great all weekend and we qualified second for both races. We had some bad luck in both races after getting blocked by lapped traffic in the closing laps of race one and experiencing a front tire vibration in race two. The BHA with Curb/Agajanian guys did a great job all weekend giving me a really fast car."

The F1600 Championship Series will head to Summit Point Motorsports Park for the next race weekend, August 24-26. The Mygale/Honda duo will look to claim the podium again as they head into the final two race weekends of the season.
