Miami, FL – 2010 F2000 Championship Series title-winner Alegra Motorsports will offer an F2000 test to the top placing F1600 Formula F Championship Series driver, aged 21 or younger, at the end of the 2011 season.

Alegra will provide the opportunity for an aspiring driver to test a Van Diemen under the lights at Palm Beach International Raceway this fall.

“We believe the F2000 Championship Series is the premier training series in North America for aspiring young drivers and we want to give a deserving driver the chance to experience a competitive F2000 car” said Andy Greene, Alegra’s team manager.

The Miami-based squad, 2007 Daytona 24 hour GT class winner, also runs cars in the Trans-Am Series, various Grand-Am Daytona Prototype events and vintage races.

The 2011 Alegra F2000 team features Gustavo Rizzo in the #23 Van Diemen/Zetec, Fabio Orsolon in the #24 RFR/ Zetec and Angel Benitez in the #26 Van Diemen/Zetec.

Offering the complimentary test, Alegra helps smooth the transition for a deserving and aspiring race car driver from F1600 to the more advanced F2000 cars.

“This is a great opportunity that Alegra has offered and we fully expect the competition to earn this test to be every bit as close as the overall championship,” said Series Managing Director Michal Rand. “One young driver will get the best prize they can imagine and we know they will make the most of the chance to drive in a front-running F2000 car for the 2010 Championship team.”

An eligible driver must have been 21 years old, or younger, when the season started at Virginia International Raceway in April.
