AcceleRace VIR Wrap-Up

April 13, 2011

Louisville, KY – Targeting a strong start to the 2011 F2000 Championship Series Season, AcceleRace Motorsports achieved its goal of a Master Division win in Race 1 this past weekend at VIR.  Expertly using the Hoosier Tire-sponsored Thursday test day, where the team could take full advantage of the  testing environment, AcceleRace tuned the #29 ImagePRO F2000 car in preparation for the weekend ahead.  The hard work paid off with the first Masters win of the 2011 F2000 Championship Series campaign.

“The entire AcceleRace Motorsports team is thrilled with our results in the first F2000 Championship Series race of the year.” Stated Team Principle ML Padden. “The extra test day allowed us to not only shake down the ImagePRO car, but refine our strategy for the all-important points-paying races, and our work definitely paid off with the win.”

After quick Practice Sessions Friday, AcceleRace Motorsports hit the Saturday morning Qualifying with a confident strategy.  Conserving tires in Saturday’s Qualifying session, the team positioned itself in sixth in class for the start of Race 1.  The sixth place start was enough to get right to work in the race to move up the field and take the win in Masters Division, and fifth overall in a stacked field of 28-entries.

AcceleRace Motorsports takes a well-deserved three-weeks off to prepare for the second event of the 2011 F2000 Championship Season, May 6-7, at the famed Road Atlanta.

AcceleRace MotorSports is an accelerated “total immersion format” multi-series race team focused on providing talented & competitive drivers the tools to sharpen their skills while racing to win the USA's premier F2000 series.
