Thomas Schrage Joins RiceRace for PIRC
Thomas Schrage will be the RiceRace guest driver for the upcoming FRP F1600 event at Pittsburgh International Race Complex on June 18-20. The 16-year old Ohio native has been tearing up the track in his family run Swift FF, recently winning the Hoosier Super Tour event at Mid-Ohio.
"We have been watching Thomas race successfully this year and wanted to get him a weekend in one of our cars" reports team owner Greg Rice. "We are very proud of our connection to club racing. It is our foundation, and we are thrilled to give Thomas this opportunity. He will join team members Jonathan Lee and Kyle August who also got their start in Club racing".
Will Holtz and Kyle August are doing the full FRP F1600 season, currently sitting 3rd and 5th in the championship. RiceRace also runs a 3rd car for a guest driver each weekend. Bob Perona, Simon Sikes, and Dex Czuba have all scored podiums for the team, Simon winning 3 races. Misha Goikhberg, fresh from winning the June Sprints, will drive for the team at event 5 at Road America on August 1. The team has one open seat for the 3 last FRP F1600 events and the SCCA Runoffs. 2022 opportunities are available and fall testing plans are being developed.
